Lets explore the importance of preparing PURPOSEFUL questions for interview. Something which will definitely set you aside from other applicants and result in that job being offered to you.
When asked “Do you have any questions for us?” don’t be the one to say “No, I think you have covered everything” or ask questions just because you feel you should and certainly avoiding the salary and benefits questions – a big NO.
Instead, use this opportunity to secure the role, this is the perfect prompt to have some astute questions at hand and showcase yourself. You will have prepared these questions in advance, during your research. Questions which will formalise your suitability for the role whilst demonstrating your interest in the company, the role and the people your sat with, leaving an all round positive impression that you are their ideal applicant. So how do you do this?
This is a regular interview oversight, something I enjoy coaching people on and seeing the difference in interview confidence and outcomes. Something we are all capable of but need to practice, like any skill, but once it clicks you will feel the difference and actually enjoy the interview experience rather than potentially feeling nervous.
